"You’re not too much. You’re just ahead of your time."
I remember the meeting clearly.
I had just presented a multi-million dollar plan for an equipment—critical to keeping a flagship hardware launch on track. There was silence.
And then a man on the team repeated the exact same idea I had just pitched. This time, people nodded. Someone even said, “Great thinking.”
That was the moment I realized: I wasn’t imagining it. I wasn’t being sensitive. I was being erased.
From the beginning, we’re taught subtle rules:
Except it doesn’t. Not always. Not in rooms that weren’t designed for you to be heard.
I waited for years to be “ready” before I went after roles I was already qualified for. I downplayed my wins. I made myself smaller to fit into places I had outgrown.
Until I stopped.
I started owning the scale of my impact.
And you know what? That’s when momentum hit. Promotions, better roles, real visibility. Not because the system changed.
But because I did.
If you’re a woman in tech leadership—or on your way there—this is your reminder:
And still… you’re rising.
OrbitScale isn’t just a platform. It’s a movement for those of us who are done shrinking.
Here, you’ll find:
Because leadership isn’t about waiting your turn.
